Major incident or attack
Rare, but you may be told to stay indoors, avoid an area or leave quickly.
If you are caught up in it
- Follow police instructions straight away.
- If there is an attack: run to a safe place if you can, hide if you cannot, and call 999 when it is safe.
- If told to go in, stay in and tune in: close windows and doors and listen to the radio.
Afterwards
- Use official sources and do not share unverified claims.
- Tell your out-of-area contact you are safe.
